Well the Holidays are here! We intended to get out and meet some amazing Springfieldians, but alas… two ninjas came down with something, the roads got slick and we just couldn’t get ourselves out there. But considering the recent chill we knew many of you would be out looking for something warm… like a hot chocolate or an amazing coffee? So once again we set out to explain our ninja ways to someone. We instantly thought of Grab-a-Java, we knew they would understand our artsy ways!!! After giving them my crazy little spiel they agreed to hand out some ninja cheer! Thank you so much to them for having fun and helping us make people smile!!! Happy Holidays to all you beautiful people and keep yarning!!!!!! This yarn bomb took a long time to make, which is why you haven’t seen us in awhile. It started with a meeting at the local Starbucks. Lots of drawings, notes, and somewhat questionable measurements. We had the intel from a secret meeting with a boss man at Lauterbach Tire and Auto Service. Assignments were handed out, and the race was on. This was my piece:
That’s the belt. There is also a cape, underwear (doesn’t every super hero wear their underwear on the outside of their costume?), and suspenders. He is after all, a lumberjack. We even have a sign in front of him with our web address on it, so if any of you got here from typing that in, let us know.
After an initial delay in target date due to the immense size of the project, we were ready to go. The auto guys were informed of the new date, and off we went. This is on Wabash Avenue in Springfield, so it was pretty busy. At least 4 different police men drove by, one questioned our motives. And the guys next door at Brahler were quite suspicious. There were quite a few trips up and down the ladder and some near impossible moves by the ninjas, but we did it. We gave this lonely man a costume.
The Lauterbach guys will let us know when they get tired of our work, so that we can remove it. Let them know how much you love it, and see how long we can keep it up. Maybe he can make it to trick or treating night. Maybe we should have given him a candy bag…
Until next time,

So we know you’ve been missing us, and craving some yarn fun. We are almost ready to surprise you Springfieldians, but not quite yet. So in the mean time, the Yarn Ninjas have developed a limerick to give you a hint about our next target. See if you can figure this one out:
There once was a big tall man,
who spends his days being as tall as he can.
He’s hungry for steak,
He loves cars, ANY make,
and will soon be yarned according to plan.
So don’t worry, we are working hard, and will soon be making people smile with our colorful crochet pieces. Until then, stay funky Springfield!

Awwww thanks for the love! It was our pleasure to decorate such a magnificent school! We are so happy you enjoyed that! Now I know all of our friends are getting excited! Where will we strike next? How about a hint for all you yarn junkies…. I have currently completed 1′ of my section on this project. My section will be about 12′ tall….. So you will have to be patient with me, but I promise you… this will be too big to miss! What could it be? Where could it be?! It might be a bit before you hear from us, but maybe we will drop a couple more hints before the BIG day. Have a happy day! Love~ Orange Ninja!
Congratulations to our Laketown ISAT ninjas!!! You guys did so amazing on your ISAT test a ninja couldn’t just let that go without notice!! We hope you know how very proud we are of you for all your hard work and dedication. Work hard again this year and know that we think all of you (yes, you teachers too!!!) are absolutely amazing! We were so lucky to get the chance to recognize you for all the greatness that you are! GO LAKETOWN!!!!!!!
This morning the park district removed the tree socks. So sad. We hoped that the items would stay up at least a week, but that is a risk of yarn bombing. We are happy that some of the items were able to be taken and enjoyed by our fans. All 26 birdhouses were snagged by visitors by Saturday evening, and the bench cover was gone by Sunday afternoon. Goodbye lovely tree socks. Okay, done with the mourning. We are already working on our next project, so if you didn’t get a chance to stop by the park, it won’t be long before you will see our work again!
